How do you create a Makerspace?
A Photo Journal
At Bangkok Prep, myself and a colleague had a vision of creating a child-led space ion which children could develop their creativity whilst proving a place in which they can work with others. Whilst learning real life skills and developing their knowledge in a naturing environment which rewards responsible failure and promotes responsible risk taking and critical thinking.
This is a photo journey of the progress we have made since 2019. Everything in the MakerSpace was created by children or was created from repurposed reusable materials. Helping to promote our eco schools message, ensuring children know how to make and create whilst thinking about how this may impact their own a child's own environment.
During the two years it has taken to set up and develop we have created numerous fun, yet challenging projects. We found a Tuk Tuk on the side of the road and my colleague decided to enquire about its availability. Before long it was cut in half, transported upstairs to the fifth floor and we had an ambitious project to bring life back to the Tuk Tuk and install a SNES games console! We succeeded in this project and countless others. Please take the time to look through the journey.
